Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports that the keeper, having napped through the poetry month of April, including April Fools Day, and Arbor Day, offers the following in a flailing attempt to catch up:
The great fanged predator lurks everywhere:
In the parking basement it crouches in the shadows
Along the walk from elevator to vehicle.
It didn’t pounce today.
It slinks and sneaks through good and bad,
A game of grand indifference to be had,
It leaves a wake of joy and sad,
As one-way as gravity’s grab.
“Listen up, Time, you insatiable devourer of all,
You juggler of every cell in the universe:
Take it slow with us, we’re not ready to go,
But here’s a thing we’d like you to know:
As you work on your big rearrangement log
Please plan it so we come back as a dog.”
