Kickass and Kens sketch

Kickass, the doorstop dog, cautions the keeper not to get carried away with grandiosity in the wake of Ken Opin’s excellent sketch portrait as Ken does a series of old friends in his remarkable sparse style that captures the essence of his subjects with a few deft lines.

Ken noted in regard to the keeper’s portrait that it was done with Jupiter Vortex Ink which “produces a green sheen in certain light.”

The keeper thanks Ken and is greatly flattered by Ken’s sketch that may capture his essence but also gives the impression that he is still young enough to go skateboarding.

The keeper will be searching for that “certain light” to show the portrait “with a green sheen,” and then it will be framed and displayed at a location that makes it easy for Phyllis to stare at it in awe.

Thanks, Ken!
