Kickass and lake living

Kickass, the doorstop dog, joins the keeper in acknowledging that living in proximity to a lake is not only symbolic of economic status but also presents the opportunity for quality recreation, particularly in a four-lakes town like Madison.

However certain economic factors prevent people like the keeper and Phyllis from becoming traditional “lakers” and they therefore have created their own lake which gives them an even higher level of lake-living exclusive status.

“Lake Phyllis” is shared only with the house finches and their friends and has the advantage of never greening up in the summer or experiencing the annoyance of noisy water machines.

“Lake Phyllis” does, however, attract attractive lake users for the keeper’s viewing pleasure and that will be enough until he can afford a boat.
