Kickass and Pat’s memorial day

Kickass, the doorstop dog, says the past weekend packed with family and friends gathered to memorialize the keeper’s daughter Pat who died suddenly Aug.1 , has left him flatter than an old rug.  In this autumn of easy rain, the sun came out to shine brightly on the Saturday occasion, and it was a first rate celebration that Pat would have thoroughly enjoyed.  Picking up the pieces and moving on after losing someone you love is one of life’s toughest assignments.  Nobody escapes.  There is no formula for recovery, but what happened on Pat’s behalf over the weekend helped move things along.
