Kickass and remembering/forgetting

Kickass, the doorstop dog, notes that the keeper has attained that age that by some standards makes him too old to vote, a nuisance on the roadways, cause for elevator delay, deaf to commands to “get out of the way” and unable to sort outrageous lies from the truth.

Given this rarefied status, the keeper has divided his “time-left” activity into two categories: remembering and forgetting.

Emphasis will obviously be on the former, it being much more gratifying to remember a childhood escapade than it is to forget to take your meds.

By way of developing a healthy ratio of remembering/forgetting, the keeper will be closely consulting with Phyllis who, as a younger woman tends to remember more than she forgets, which balances out the keeper’s inclination to forget more than he remembers.
