Kickass and the bicyclists

Kickass, the doorstop dog, says that the house he and the keeper live in is on a road frequently used as a bicycle event route, and on some weekends, dozens—maybe hundreds, of brightly colored riders pass by, gripping their handlebars and crouched in the posture of roosting chickens.

Where are they all going and why, Kickass wondered?

Then he heard the keeper say the bike riders had no meaningful destination and there is no real way to figure out why they are going there.

That is apparently the beauty of the thing, which causes Kickass– who often doesn’t know where he is going or why, to watch the bicyclists with renewed interest.
