Kickass and the box camera
Kickass, the doorstop dog, is urging the keeper to consider donating his camera equipment to an appropriate charity, perhaps the flat-earth science-deniers so they can make a video of the watery end of the world. On a most recent outing with photo-artist Phyllis along one of Wisconsin’s very special Rustic Roads that included spectacular displays of multi colored lupine and an active eagle nest with one unfledged young, the keeper clicked away as if he knew what he was doing. He didn’t. He neglected to check an important camera setting and ended up with washed-out shots unfit for outhouse wall paper. The keeper has a long history of this, apparently inherited from his wonderful mother who forever cut the heads off family groups with her box camera. Phyllis, meanwhile, came away with exceptional lupine shots and charitably did not suggest that anything more advanced than a one-click box camera puts the keeper in over his head.
