Kickass and the red fox

Kickass the Doorstop Dog

Kickass, the doorstop dog, came home after a month on South Padre to find that a red fox had taken up residence on the sunny part of the hill.  It lolls and basks in the blanket of prairie grass, and grooms itself between naps.  He—and that is what gender it must be since the vixen is likely gestating or tending a litter of new kits in a nearby burrow—is a welcome tenant and does not make the keeper feel as if he is living in a threatened “hen house.”   The politics of absurdity has already done that and Kickass hastens to point out that while the canine world is wide and varied, it DOES NOT include the orange-haired dingo in the White House.
