Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports that the keeper, having spent most of his life trying to “fetch” the truth as a working journalist, now finds the current wholesale pursuit of “truth” to resemble a lynch mob with rope in hand, the gallows in sight and victims in mind.
Truth should not be that perverted, the keeper contends, as he borrows a phrase recently used by the POTUS to excuse his role in the death of several hundred thousand coronavirus victims–, truth “is what it is.” Except in the case of the POTUS, who has discovered that the best way to deal with telling the truth is to tell falsehoods which turn out to be more effective in communicating with that segment of the populace seemingly skipping down the Yellow Brick Road with Dorothy and Toto and the scarecrow.
The keeper refers to the dictionary definitions of truth as “the body of real things, events and facts” or “the state of being the case;” and he then moves on to acknowledge Fox news and the corresponding cult of ignorance that denies scientific truths while accepting the myth of dems having sex with aliens to produce anti-Trump traitors.
Kickass says truth is nothing more than finding a nice sunny place on the carpet to sleep off a big meal.
