Kickass and tony earl
Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports that the keeper and Phyllis were among those who “toasted” Tony Earl at Monona Terrace last night. Tony was citing for his many years of public service–as governor in the 1980’s, as DNR secretary and for being in the thick of meaningful environmental issues for decades. It was a fun evening that celebrated what was possible within the rickety framework of government if decency is the byword, and who gets credit is not important. There was little to no mention of the system now being tested as never before, but the beer toast to Tony left a residue of hope that the “better angels” among us had better get down off their clouds and deal with the current narcissistic tragedy on both national and state levels before it is too late.
