Kickass, the doorstop dog, was with the keeper to listen to his muttering as he removed the snowplow from the tractor on April 5, 2019: It was one helluva winter, as nasty and tenacious as any in memory, and it was accompanied by a constant stream of depressing news about the unbelievably sad circumstance in the White House. It was a mean winter, full of surprise storms and freezing cold, and, toward the end, it produced a feeling that there would be no end to it. But there was an end, and most of us survived the miserable season, physically intact if not emotionally bruised. Nothing beyond survival really matters. Bring on the April showers! The keeper threatens to become a May flower. Join him!
