Kickass April Cruelty

Kickass, the doorstop dog, says the black of the burned prairie around the house is like the tracks of a dark night that partied hard and left its hangover behind.

But on another part of the ridge, beautiful blue pasque flowers are out and signaling, “Come on, let’s get it on here!”

So we are left black and blue from April’s cruelty.

It is to be savored.
