Kickass

Kickass autumn’s signals

Kickass, the doorstop dog, notes the autumn stains on the incredible green of this saturated summer, and how that is such a powerful symbol of time marching on.  Kickass then wonders about the egotistical opinions of the keeper’s species, its members generally denying the fact that they are part of the process.

That denial is not complete, of course, and it may lie at the heart of autumn being the favorite season for the keeper and many others.  It symbolizes the pause between life’s frenzy of production and reproduction.  It is a period of backing-off and a vibrant celebration of accomplishments and pleasures.  Then autumn goes on to suggest that the coming season of cold and snow is nothing more than an essential part of the grand scheme for all things.

So Kickass and the keeper join the chorus of autumn as it sings, “I’ve got you, Babe.” Carpe Diem!
