Kickass Carpe Diem
Kickass, the doorstop dog, says if you do not get out to commune with the natural landscape on this day you are one unfortunate puppy.
IT IS SPECTACULAR!
This is the time of the trees: plum and cherry and apple in gaudy prom dresses to erase the unpleasant memory of winter nakedness; woodland species in subtle green shades that paint the hills in a mockery of autumn’s explosive excess.
Wild flowers: Marsh Marigold as the spilled yellow coins of a seasonal pirate, delicate violets everywhere to put excitement and life in the long-dead leafy forest floor. There will be a series of newcomers—trilliums, trout lilies, wild geranium, so many more.
And over it all the exquisite music of the birds from a hundred hidden places, tweeting and trilling for love in the magnificence of the day.
