Kickass changes I do to I don’t
Kickass, the doorstop dog, says the keeper is sifting through his cluttered mental records trying to find occasions when he misspoke by saying “would” when he meant to say “wouldn’t,” He seems to remember this one time many years ago when a traffic officer stopped him late at night and asked for his driver’s license whereupon the keeper said that “would” be asking too much, when on reflection the next day he realized he had meant to say that “wouldn’t” be asking too much.
The keeper further observes that if you can change words in that manner, what does it mean for such things as wedding vows—can “I do” be changed to “I don’t” the day after the wedding?
Kickass and the keeper will be looking to Washington for cognitive guidance.
