Kickass dirty windows
Kickass, the doorstop dog, says the keeper’s plan to never wash the house windows in the interests of reducing bird collisions seems to be working, but this morning there was a serious “THUNK” at a bedroom window and later a dazed Robin squatted near the foundation stones. Ever anxious to extract meaning from the incidents and accidents of life, Kickass makes the following observations:
- The word “thunk” was obviously coined to precisely describe the sound of an unfortunate bird hitting a window
- Crashing into a window—especially a dirty one, may indicate a preoccupation with some mundane thing like reproduction.
- Just because you can see through something doesn’t mean it cannot give you a really bad headache, as in elections and promises.
- If you are awakened by a “thunk” on the bedroom window it is probably time to get up and make coffee while considering plans to encourage dirtier windows.
