Kickass drifting the Driftless

Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports that one of the highlights of the  keeper’s most recent driftless tour of the Driftless area was a mellow yellow cat sitting by a welcome sign at a gaudy house entrance in a small town that is being enveloped by the vines of time and nature.

There were other things to see, a deer seemingly waiting for the mailman at a colorful cluster of mail boxes, a small crowd where everybody knew everybody else in a crossroads town celebrating something or other, maybe just each other, and corn, corn, corn, as high as an elephant’s eye.

These Driftless tours are the keeper’s unfailing therapy.  He comes away from them knowing that all is normal, and even “well.”  Take it from the yellow cat.
