Kickass dumb in summer flowers

Kickass, the doorstop dog, says you cannot fix dumbness, and if you spend all your energy pointing it out and stewing about it in others you create your own dumbness.

Better to take a walk in the wildflowers which are approaching their summer glory now in July.  The keeper cannot drive up his driveway without stopping to admire the compass plants and coneflowers and bee balm and all the others.

He says it is therapy, which may mean he is not as dumb as he sometimes seems.
