Kickass fall on ass or head

Kickass, the doorstop dog, says the keeper, as usual, is grappling with a question that grew out of his weekly meeting with a group of ancient has-beens or never-weres, where in a regular summary of their week, one of them (John) reported slipping on the ice and falling on his ass, and another (Howard) reported an ice accident that caused him to wake up in an ambulance with a fractured skull.

Since everyone in the keeper’s age group has a winter-long fear of slipping and falling on the ice, a question of whether it is best to land on your ass or your head is perversely appropriate.

There seems to be no consensus but it is the keeper’s opinion that landing on your head in these political chaotic times may be the best option.  Howard likely agrees, and he is experienced.
