Kickass goes up the river
Kickass, the doorstop dog, in the company of Phyllis and other family members, boarded Mike’s small pontoon boat at Sauk for an evening cruise up the Wisconsin river. It included the pelicans flying over in the dusk on the way to their night roosts downriver, and the night creatures tuning up for their long nocturnal show; and then as the night took over, there was a sudden display of fireworks off to the west which caused the keeper to speculate on how the fireworks people knew he was going to be in the area and how they knew to set off the display just when he and his fellow river drifters were in an ideal position for viewing. There was a community event, Mike said, which did not deter the keeper from assuming the display was just for him, and Phyllis, of course.
