Kickass Heifer killed by car
Kickass, the doorstop dog, says the keeper, while pawing through the detritus of his journalistic life with granddaughter Sarah, happened across what must have been the first thing he ever wrote for a newspaper—The Stevens Point Daily Journal, in 1958.
The headline on the one-paragraph story was, “Heifer Killed By Car In Town Of Stockton.”
The keeper claims the story was damn well written, including the age of the heifer—two; her owner—James O’Keefe; and the name of the car’s driver—Alois Twanski from Milwaukee.
