Kickass Hey diddle, diddle

Kickass. the doorstop dog, accompanied the keeper on a brief tour of the deep-freeze country side, and with the advise about how important it is for  elderly people to socialize, a stop was made to visit with some cattle along the edge of a woods;

Not having my powers of communicating with all creatures, the keeper recited a poem to the cows: “Hey diddle diddle.  The cat and the fiddle. The cow jumped over the moon.  The little dog laughed to see such a sight.  And the dish ran away with the spoon.”

The cows appeared to be unmoved by the keeper’s performance but he seemed to get something from it (socializing?) and before leaving he told the cows to “stay warm.”  Fortunately for him, he did not hear—as I did, what the cows said in response: “If cows had fingers, you’d get the middle ones!”
