Kickass in deep water
Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports that his keeper got himself into yet another absurd dilemma in last night’s emerging darkness—deep in a swampy jungle, dangling from a bank in very deep water on the Mecan River, unable to pull himself out while lightning flashed and thunder boomed and rain poured down, and the elusive mayflies failed to show for the evening hatch, and therefore there were no trout to be had.
As he struggled—and according to him it was an epic struggle that went on far too long and was a true test of his abused heart—when he finally was sprawled in the sodden ferns and canary grass, he vowed never to ridicule another golfer.
But as he and his son Larry made their stumbling way out of the dark swamp, the keeper used a golfing term to describe the evening as “par for the course.”
