Kickass leading in death
Kickass, the doorstop dog, acknowledging his John McCain Saturday post that was sadly prophetic by a few hours, takes note of the incredible human capacity for moving on while juggling respect, reverence and survival.
So among the McCain tributes on this Sunday morning, the keeper tuned into the big band program out of Monroe and heard a Spike Jones rendition of the William Tell Overture—Spike being a novelty band leader favorite of the keeper’s way back when he was stumbling around with an empty cultural knapsack.
The “music” was wonderful and it made the keeper laugh, something that McCain certainly would have approved of on this first rotation of the earth without his life force and his smile. Even in death he leads.
