Kickass Memorial Day 2019

Kickass, the doorstop dog, says the keeper’s very limited musical talent is best displayed at twilight around a bonfire next to the river with wee little great- grandchildren dancing to his harmonica rendition of Cruising Down The River, or maybe something a bit more lively like Polly Wolly Doodle All The Day.  On the eve of yet another Memorial Day, such a joyous experience moderates the memory of Army pals who never made it off the Korean hills, and moves the keeper to conclude that he has been one lucky SOB for a long, long time and would like to do campfire encores until the tolerant family music critics fade away into the dark night, and the little dancers are sleeping in their mothers’ arms.  “Lullaby and goodnight……….”
