Kickass on killing the young

Kickass, the doorstop dog, notes that within most species, dogs and humans included, there is such strong instinctive motivation to protect the young that it transcends fear and everything else, and defines itself as love and adulation and family and the meaning of life.

Then there is a thing called Sexually Selected Infanticide, (SSI) present in some species, notably grizzly bears, in which the male grizzly kills the cubs that may have been sired by another male.

Kickass considers the ongoing unspeakable outrage of tearing apart families in the name of the Trump/Sessions immigration actions, and suggests it may be the aberrant emergence of SSI in the human species.  There can be no other explanation.
