Kickass, sweet corn shortcake and dogs

Kickass, the doorstop dog, notes that the keeper, in his efforts to stay ahead of the game, whatever that means, served up sweet-corn and strawberry shortcake at a recent family gathering and was rewarded with requests for second servings.

So what could possibly improve a beautiful July weekend but sweet-corn and strawberry shortcake, and family?
